  Applicant Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Other Ocean. We appreciate applications that follow the Applicant Submission Guidelines explained on this page in order to facilitate the hiring process.

Submissions must include a cover letter, resume, and (if applicable) a portfolio. We work on a variety of projects and we may have several games in production at any given time. We produce games for platforms such as the Nintendo DS, and Wii, Apple’s iPhone, and the PC. Large next generation game production is not among our goals. Please check out our Products page page for examples.

No telephone inquiries or drop in visits, please. We look forward to reviewing your application and suggest following these instructions and tips to increase your chances for consideration. We will respond by email with a confirmation of receiving your application. Due to the high volume of applications we can not guarantee any further comments, portfolio feedback, or responses. Please do not send original samples, as they will not be returned. As our needs may change over time, please feel free to reapply after 6 months if your skill improvements are evident in your resume or work samples.

Cover Letter:

A good cover letter helps to identify why you are applying for this particular job, why you would like to work for the company, and how you would be a beneficial addition to the team. This is your chance to introduce your personality, writing skills, and professionalism to the application reviewers.

Resume:

A resume is an organized list of your skills, experience, and education. Please make sure it is accurate, honest, and up to date. A good resume will fit on one page. Applicants with extensive video game experience may require 2 pages.

Please include the following in your resume:

  1. Contact information (phone number, email address, and mailing address)
  2. Objective (the position you are applying for, and your goals in one sentence)
  3. Work experience (employers, employment dates by month and year, job titles, and concise descriptions of accomplishments and responsibilities)
  4. Skills (software and level of proficiency, drawing and animation traditional skills)
  5. Education (degrees, certifications, and additional training including dates of attendance for each, honours or grade point averages)
  6. Other relevant info (Credits, related skills)
